This is an easy fit, unisex, comfortable cardigan to keep you warm and cozy. With its generous ease and an extra-long length, deep armholes and wide cuffs, you can wear this cardigan over anything. Wear it over another sweater in the winter or as your outer wear in the fall. The rib is a simple to memorize stitch pattern that adds a beautiful texture to your cardigan. With deep pockets and cozy collar, you will never want to take this off! Knit in pieces and seamed, this sweater will not lose it’s shape and stretch out. No armholes down to you waist like top down raglan. When you work seamed raglan, the rate of shaping for the sleeves and body are separate for perfect fit.

Weekend Wool is 100% wool sourced from farms in New England and across the US features a blend of the soft wools from Rambouillet, Columbia, Targhee and Friesian sheep mixed with the lustrous fleeces from Corriedale, Montadale and Romneys. The result is a lofty yet durable yarn with great stitch definition.

This is a relaxed fit garment with deeper armholes and wider cuffs to allow it to be worn as an outer garment. Sweater can be worn with a range of eases over full chest. For a relaxed fit, use 0 – 3” of positive ease or for an oversized fit or for use as an outer garment, use 3 – 5” of positive ease. Depending on desired fit, you could use high chest as your chest measurement.

Needles

Size US 8 (5 mm) needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) needles for pocket ribbing and lining.
40″ / 101 cm, Size US 7 (4.5 mm) needles for button band.

Notions

Waste yarn, 7 (7, 7, 8) (8, 8, 8) (8, 8, 8), 7/8″ / 21 mm Buttons. 

Gauge

22 sts & 26 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in Saugerties Rib pattern on larger needle.
